CBJ Youth Scholarship

JDIA offers scholarships to families who have a financial need and qualify for financial assistance. JDIA budgets $2,000 annually to be used towards youth scholarships. To qualify, a family must first receive a CBJ Youth Scholarship. If the applying family meets the CBJ Youth Scholarship criteria, JDIA will match the qualifying family up to the amount of the CBJ Parks and Rec Scholarship. The amount will be applied to the member's registration cost.

Matthew Campbell Memorial Scholarship

Words from the Campbell Family :

"We are forever shattered and missing our sweet son. He was such a huge presence in not only our lives, but everyone he touched with his kindness and generosity. He was and always will be a huge influence in Brandon's life and I know it's going to be a daily struggle for him, even if he doesn't outwardly show it. We know our hockey family will look out for him and shower him with love and care.

The instruction, experiences, and friendship Matthew experienced during his time with JDIA and Treadwell Arena from the first day the rink opened, to when he graduated from high school will be cherished by us. Matthew continued his love and passion for hockey the past few years as he played adult league hockey in Bozeman during graduate school, refereeing hockey in Bozeman, and even playing adult league hockey in Seattle during very intense chemotherapy treatment and terminal cancer. It also brought him such joy to return to Juneau last Christmas and play in the JDHS Alumni game, and he kept up with the rest of the players!

We are setting up a memorial scholarship to honor Matthew's legacy of kindness, hard work, passion for friends and family, and living an amazing life. We have details/links on his new website if anyone is interested or able to pass on the information. There is also a link to view and post pictures and comments about Matthew."
