Board of Directors
Overview and Monthly Meetings
The Juneau Douglas Ice Association (JDIA) as an organization is managed by eleven Board of Directors. Our directors are elected by the general membership and hold their seat for a three-year term unless otherwise noted to be filling an early vacated seat; directors are volunteers and receive no compensation, in fact, there are no paid staff members employed with JDIA. Elections for the Board of Directors are held near the end of the season via online voting.
Board meetings have time allotted for public comment and is limited to 3 minutes for each person. Anyone wishing to address the board with a specific topic may do so by contacting the president or vice president and request to be placed on the agenda.
In the event that a member is unable to make contact with the president or vice president, they may show up and request to have the agenda amended at the beginning of the meeting in order to be heard.
Monthly board meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month. Board meetings are open to the public and all members are invited to attend.
