How to run for our Board

JDIA as an organization is managed by eleven Board of Directors.  Our directors are elected by the general membership and hold their seat for a three-year term unless otherwise noted to be filling an early vacated seat; directors are volunteers and receive no compensation, in fact, there are no paid staff members employed with JDIA.  Board of Directors election is held near the end of the season via an online platform.  Members are encouraged to become board members or to participate as a committee member or to special projects.  The Board of Directors will generally meet on the second Wednesday of each month unless otherwise stated.  Monthly Board of Director meetings are open to the public and all members are invited to attend.  Our board meetings have time allotted for public comment and limited to 3 minutes per person.  Anyone wishing to address the Board with a specific topic may do so by contacting the president or vice president and request to be placed on the agenda.  In the event that a member is unable to make contact with the president or vice president, they may show up and request to have the agenda amended at the beginning of the meeting in order to be heard.

To run for our Board of Directors please submit a letter of intent to mail@jdiahockey.net
Please include information about who you are and why are you interested in running for the board.  Letters of Intent are emailed to our membership so they may read about their candidates prior to casting their votes.
